Overview of Ecigarettes

While electronic cigarettes, or ecigarettes, have not been officially approved as a medical nicotine replacement therapy, they do deliver nicotine while eliminating the seriously toxic substances.  You don’t get the tar and carbon monoxide that you would get from smoking, which is so damaging to the body, especially to your lungs, heart and arteries.

You do still get nicotine, which is what you need to satisfy your addiction.  But many ecigarette users are able to gradually decrease the concentration of nicotine that they inhale.  It’s pretty easy to step down your dosage over time, until, finally, you are smoking a zero nicotine strength liquid.  Maybe you will even quit smoking completely.

The nicotine or “ejuice” that you buy to refill ecigarettes comes in different strengths that usually range from 0 mg up to 16 or 18 mg.  Strengths that are higher than 18 mg may make purchasing more convenient, but should be diluted before use.

Think about what all this means for your health and well being.  Ecigarettes give you the option to instantly get away from tar and other carcinogens.  Instantly!  Not only will you be healthier and have better lung function — but, over time, you could actually eliminate your nicotine addiction completely.

What if you don’t really want to quit smoking?  Well, some people kick the nic addiction, but then continue to smoke a zero nicotine solution, for various reasons.  They might just enjoy the act of smoking or have a psychological addiction, or believe they need something to do with their hands.  Some might feel that it helps them to avoid weight gain or to relieve stress.

It’s great to conquer the nicotine addiction, if at all possible.  That way, even if you still want to smoke, you will no longer HAVE to smoke.  Your life will no longer be governed by the availability (or the shortage) of tobacco products.  And, in many cases, you will even be granted the privilege of using your ecigarette in places that would normally forbid smoking.
